About Obscura Collective

The Obscura Collective exists as an ephemeral gathering place for creators and seekers, a third space that celebrates artistry, inclusivity, and discovery.

Our mission is to foster a community where creativity thrives, connections are made, and inspiration is found.

We chose the name 'Obscura' to reflect our journey into the hidden and the overlooked, where we find unique talents, rare gems of vintage fashion, and places that lie beyond the ordinary. It embodies our passion for celebrating the misunderstood, the offbeat, and the off-the-beaten-path treasures that many may miss.

Through unique events and curated experiences, we bring people together to explore art, appreciate vintage fashion, share stories, and support emerging talent.

Our Story

Obscura Collective was founded by Analise Anderson, a solo Latina entrepreneur inspired by her family’s legacy in the Los Angeles market scene. Her journey began with her grandfather, a leather craftsman who immigrated from Mexico to become one of the original vendors on Olvera Street, and taught her the value of hard work.

During the pandemic, Analise turned to selling vintage as a survival job, hosting her first markets as casual house parties in the empty pool at her old apartment. What started as a small gathering of friends quickly grew into the Frogtown Flea Crawl — a bustling flea market with 9 locations in the Elysian Valley that attracted local artisans and vintage lovers from all over.

From those grassroots beginnings, The Frogtown Project expanded to multiple neighborhoods, including the Market on Mateo in the Arts District. Now, Obscura Collective is the next evolution of Analise’s vision, a curated space that brings together local artists, vintage curators, and independent designers in unique LA neighborhoods. She hopes to foster a welcoming and safe environment for young creatives to gather, explore, and connect.

Obscura Collective is more than a market; it’s a place for discovery, empowerment, and creativity, dedicated to showcasing local talent and fostering community.
